In a significant move toward advancing urban sustainability in the Gulf region, Netherlands-based environmental innovator CO2Wall has officially expanded its operations to Saudi Arabia, marking a major milestone in its global growth strategy. The expansion is being facilitated by AstroLabs, the Gulf’s leading business expansion platform.

With the opening of a new office in Riyadh, CO2Wall is poised to deliver its nature-based climate solutions—smart green wall and roof systems—tailored to enhance the region’s environmental resilience. These systems aim to improve air quality, regulate building temperatures, and boost biodiversity in urban areas, all while reducing energy consumption.

The Riyadh expansion allows CO2Wall to meet rising demand in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, particularly for its desert-adaptive solutions already in use in high-impact government projects. The company’s innovations include dense vegetation structures powered by AI predictive monitoring, ensuring long-term sustainability and functionality.

“Our entry into Saudi Arabia supports the country’s ambitious Vision 2030 sustainability goals and carbon neutrality targets,” said Gerwin Pul, Founder and CEO of CO2Wall Group BV and General Manager of CO2Wall Group KSA. “The region’s commitment to energy transformation offers fertile ground for our integrated green solutions, and AstroLabs has played a critical role in fast-tracking our presence here.”

Alex Nicholls, Director of Expansion at AstroLabs, echoed the sentiment, stating, “Saudi Arabia is becoming a global testbed for innovative sustainability technologies. CO2Wall is ideally positioned to lead the charge in climate resilience and green infrastructure development.”

CO2Wall’s flagship offerings—AI-powered green walls and roofs—are designed to purify air, absorb carbon dioxide, and reduce noise, while also creating aesthetically pleasing and ecologically functional spaces in both exterior and interior environments. The company’s technology is already widely adopted across Europe, backed by R&D collaborations with top universities in Germany and the Netherlands.

By establishing a local presence, CO2Wall also aims to contribute to job creation, stimulate the green economy, and deliver 100% Saudi-made solutions, aligning its mission closely with the Kingdom’s energy transition roadmap.
