Huasun Energy And Next2Sun Form Exclusive Partnership To Bring Vertical Bifacial PV To Europe

Huasun Energy, the world’s largest producer of heterojunction (HJT) solar products, has signed an exclusive strategic cooperation agreement with Germany-based Next2Sun for collaboration in the European market. The agreement, formalized during Intersolar Europe 2025, marks a significant step toward advancing vertical photovoltaic (PV) applications across the continent. Next2Sun is recognized as the inventor and technology leader in vertical bifacial PV systems and a pioneer in the field of agrivoltaics. The company’s focus on integrating renewable energy solutions with agricultural and infrastructure use cases aligns closely with Huasun’s mission of sustainable energy innovation.

Together, the two companies aim to further expand the deployment of vertical PV systems in Europe by leveraging their respective strengths—Huasun’s high-efficiency HJT modules and Next2Sun’s established vertical PV system design. Vertical PV offers a unique solution for maximizing land-use efficiency, especially in areas that combine solar energy generation with agricultural practices or are located along transport corridors and infrastructure. These systems feature a dual-peak power generation curve that aligns with typical morning and evening electricity demand, thereby improving grid compatibility and contributing to energy stability.

Heiko Hildebrandt, CEO of Next2Sun, said in a statement, “The cooperation between two technology leaders—Huasun for modern heterojunction solar modules and Next2Sun for vertical PV systems—has resulted in the perfect module for vertical bifacial PV. We thus offer exclusive cutting-edge technology for anti-cyclical solar power generation with vertical PV.”

Terence Xing, Vice President of Huasun Energy, stated, “We see great potential in vertical bifacial photovoltaics and are delighted that, as a pioneer in the field of heterojunction modules, we can further expand this market together with Next2Sun, who is pioneer in the field of vertical bifacial photovoltaics. And We firmly believe vertical solar installations will grow significantly in the coming years, not just in Europe but also in China and beyond.”

Huasun’s Kunlun Series HJT modules are well-suited for such vertical applications, offering near-100% bifaciality. These modules incorporate bifacial light conversion films, anti-reflective coated glass, and optimized junction box placement, which together enhance performance in vertical mounting scenarios. In regions like Munich, Germany, vertical PV installations using Kunlun modules can achieve a projected Merchant Income Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 15.1%, underscoring the financial viability of these systems.

The Kunlun Series is designed to serve diverse global installation needs. The product portfolio includes G12-132 and G12R-132 modules tailored for portrait-oriented applications, as well as G12R-120 and G12R-108 modules available in both framed and frameless variants for landscape-oriented systems. This versatility, combined with technological superiority, strengthens Huasun and Next2Sun’s position in Europe’s evolving solar landscape.
