Syncarpha Capital, a New York-based leader in solar and storage project development, ownership, and operation, proudly announces that its “Syncarpha Carver, LLC” project has officially begun operations following the receipt of its Permission to Operate (PTO) approval on November 26, 2024. Located in Carver, Massachusetts, this 7.1 MW-DC community solar facility is complemented by a 4 MW x 2-hour battery storage system. The project spans 28 acres of cranberry bog land and will supply clean, renewable energy to local homes and businesses. The energy generated will be distributed via Eversource Energy, in alignment with the Massachusetts Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target (SMART) program.

Clifford Chapman, Co-Founder and CEO of Syncarpha Capital, said in a statement, “The Syncarpha team thrives on tackling challenging projects and delivering innovative solar and storage solutions that benefit communities while respecting and preserving local land use. The Carver project exemplifies our commitment and is the result of years of collaboration and meticulous planning with state, county, and local agencies, as well as Eversource, to bring this project to completion.”

Syncarpha Capital has developed an innovative solar and storage project on a 765-acre parcel leased from E.J. Pontiff Cranberries Inc. in Carver, Massachusetts. This project exemplifies a dual-purpose land strategy, combining clean energy generation with the preservation of the region’s agricultural landscapes. The Carver project is projected to produce approximately 9,500 MWh in its first year of operation, offering discounted solar energy credits to nearly 350 low-income households, as well as key institutional partners like Tufts University and Milton Academy.

The addition of a 4 MW x 2-hour battery storage system enhances the project’s effectiveness by capturing surplus solar energy, which can be released during peak demand periods. This aligns with the Massachusetts Clean Peak program, supporting grid stability, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and advancing the state’s clean energy objectives.
