Air Products is more committed than ever to its core speciality gas business under its new leadership, with the market for specialty gases continuing to grow. Specialty gas customers are also more inclined than to look for partnerships and closer ties with suppliers, which is something the industrial gas major welcomes as a development.
The position was set out by Miquel Lope, Vice-President for Northern Europe at Air Products, in his keynote presentation on day two of the three-day Specialty Gas Summit 2025 in Utrecht in the Netherlands.
Lope talked in the question-and-answer session about the direction of travel for Air Products with spec gases under its refreshed leadership team, now headed by CEO Eduardo Menezes.
“At Air Products we have been through a tumultuous and exciting time. The new leadership has shifted the focus from having first-mover advantage in markets like hydrogen to a more typical approach of securing customers first to move ahead with projects with greater certainty.
