NTPC REL & GEDA Sign MoU To Develop 300 MW+ Renewable Energy Projects In Goa, Agreement Signed In Presence Of Chief Minister On July 18, 2025

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has entered into an agreement with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) to jointly develop renewable energy projects in the state of Goa. The collaboration will focus on setting up 300 MW or more of renewable energy capacity, with or without energy storage systems, aimed at supporting the state’s clean energy goals.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially exchanged on July 18, 2025. The agreement was signed between Sh. Gauresh Ashok Pilgaonkar, Managing Director of GEDA, and Sh. Pushpendra Tyagi, Chief Financial Officer of NTPC REL. The signing took place in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa and other senior government and organizational representatives.

This partnership marks a significant step in accelerating Goa’s transition to green energy by leveraging NTPC REL’s expertise in renewable project development and GEDA’s focus on promoting sustainable energy within the state. The proposed projects under the MoU are expected to contribute to energy security, lower carbon emissions, and support the broader national vision for renewable energy expansion.
