Online bids have been invited by the 71 Engineer Regiment on behalf of the President of India for the supply and construction of 150 kW solar systems, with a total of two systems to be installed. This procurement falls under the job number 6282/2025-26 (S&C) and is scheduled for execution during the financial year 2025-26. The installations are to be executed at locations within a 300 km radius of Leh City, under the Area of Responsibility of HQ Uniform Force.

The bids will be processed online, and the request for proposal has been issued without any financial commitment. The buyer reserves the right to cancel or modify the tender at any stage, including the option to withdraw the supply order before delivery if necessary. The official contact for this RFP is the Commanding Officer of the 71 Engineer Regiment. The bid submission end date is 31st July 2025.

The delivery schedule for the project is clearly defined. The supply of the stores, including foundation and structural components, must be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the contract or supply order. Additionally, the construction of the solar system assets must be completed within 120 days from the same date. Before dispatch, all major components must undergo testing to ensure readiness and compliance with technical standards.

The final purchase order will be awarded following successful negotiations with the L1 bidder — the bidder offering the lowest price. All delivery and construction works must strictly follow the timelines and technical criteria defined in the contract.

This tender is an important step towards strengthening renewable energy capacity in high-altitude regions and aligns with the Ministry of Defence’s efforts to integrate sustainable energy solutions in operational areas.
