Baker Hughes wins equipment supply contract for BP Tangguh LNG

Energy technology company Baker Hughes has secured a long-term equipment supply agreement from BP for its Tangguh LNG plant in Indonesia.

The 90-month agreement covers spare parts, repair services, and field service engineering support for critical turbomachinery at the facility including heavy-duty gas turbines, steam turbines, and compressors for three LNG trains.

Baker Hughes’ involvement with the project stretches back to 2009, and most recently it was awarded a contract to supply additional critical power and compression systems for the Tangguh compression project last year.

The Tangguh LNG facility, billed as a cornerstone of Indonesia’s energy strategy, has suffered from delays following the Covid-19 pandemic and workforce disruptions.
