EcoCeres gears up for Asia expansion with SAF platform

Pure play renewable fuels producer EcoCeres is preparing for a wave of Asian expansion to capitalise on growing demand.

Yesterday [17 September] it supported plans to develop a sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) platform within Hong Kong and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.

Speaking exclusively to gasworld, a spokesman said the big development in the coming months is a new production facility in Malaysia with 420,000 tonnes per year of capacity. While the immediate focus is on Asia, he added that there would be an “export dimension, for sure”.

EcoCeres, which is incubated by Towngas (Hong Kong and China Gas Company) and backed by international investors Bain Capital and Kerogen Capital, converts 100% agricultural waste and sustainable feedstocks into biofuels.
