BioLNG to fuel Swedish trucks under Nordsol project

Bio-liquefied natural gas production company Nordsol is building what will be its first installation in Sweden at a plant operated by Biogas Västra Skaraborg – a company owned by 113 farmers and local business owners.

Once commissioned in 2026, the facility will produce up to 70GWh of bioLNG per year from manure-based biogas. The fuel will then be supplied to partner firm Redo Biosolutions, who will use it to decarbonise road transport in Sweden.

Liquefied biogas, or LBG, is the purified and liquefied form of biogas – a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide produced from the anaerobic digestion of organic matter like agricultural waste, food waste, and sewage.
