Privately held industrial gas major Messer has signed a deal to purchase around three million cubic meters of helium annually from state-owned energy company QatarEnergy.
Under the long-term sales and purchase agreement, high-purity helium will be sourced from QatarEnergy’s facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City and delivered to Messer customers globally.
The deal marks the first direct supply agreement between the two companies.
For Messer, it expands its sourcing portfolio and supports its strategy to secure long-term, diversified helium supply.
