Shell is to write down $600m from the cancellation of its biofuels plant in Rotterdam, according to a third quarter outlook update.
A Dutch subsidiary it would not resume construction of the facility at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park.
Upstream adjusted earnings will also take a hit of between $200m and $400m from “rebalancing of participation interests in Brazil”.
In the same update, it said liquefaction volumes for the quarter were set to total 7 to 7.4 million tonnes, up from 6.7 million tonnes in the second quarter. Third quarter results will be published on 30 October.
