Helium users invest in recovery and recycling to cut supply risk

Helium users are responding to years of tight supply and high prices by investing in on-site recovery, purification and liquefaction systems. Suppliers including Evonik and Atlas Copco say efficiency, purity and circular use are now at the heart of a more resilient helium value chain.

Helium shortages in recent years have driven price spikes and heightened supply volatility. Now, the market is as Russian gas floods into Asia and demand continues to soften for container builds in the US.

That shift was one of the key talking points during a recent gasworld webinar on the helium market, where industry experts discussed how new Russian volumes are reshaping global trade flows and influencing investment decisions downstream.
