A biomethane facility with installed capacity of over 205,000 MMBtu (60 GWh) a year has opened in Iowa in the US.
The site is a collaboration between Waste Commission of Scott County – which owns and operates the site – Linwood Mining & Minerals, which leases the property, and landfill-gas-to-biomethane firm Waga Energy, whose technology can upgrade landfill gas into pipeline-ready biomethane.
The gas is injected directly into the MidAmerican Energy pipeline.
