Air Liquide bullish on US blue hydrogen prospects

Industrial gas major Air Liquide has weighed in on recent US legislation as it relates to blue hydrogen production.

On an earnings call this week, Air Liquide North America CEO Adam Peters said the passage into law of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act on 4 July this year was significant for Air Liquide and other developers in the blue hydrogen space.

“When it was passed into law this took away one major uncertainty about how things were going to progress,” said Peters.

The law dramatically brought forward the start-of-construction deadline for the 45V clean hydrogen production tax credit – of up to $3/kg – to the end of 2027 from the original 2033 date.
