Air Liquide expands in Louisiana with new ASU

Industrial gas major Air Liquide has opened a new air separation unit in Geismar, Louisiana, to support the US Gulf Coast’s expanding industrial base.

The Geismar 4 large modular air separation (LMA) facility is one of three ASUs operated by Air Liquide in Louisiana, and will produce oxygen, nitrogen, and argon.

Air Liquide first revealed the project as part of a $270m investment in 2019 to support a long-term supply agreement with Methanex for its Geismar plant expansion.

The deal with Methanex is part of its methanol plant expansion project in Geismar.
