Ecopetrol S.A.has completed its transaction with Statkraft European Wind and Solar Holding AS acquiring one development and operations company and six special purpose entities holding approximately 0.6 GW of solar projects in Colombia. The USD 157.5 million purchase, funded through incremental debt aligned with Ecopetrol’s investment plan, transfers assets previously owned by Statkraft subsidiaries Enerfín Sociedad de Energía S.L.U and Enerfin Enervento Exterior S.L.

The May 20, 2025 agreement covers up to ten companies; the acquisition of the remaining three entities—representing around 0.7 GW of wind projects—will close once outstanding conditions and legal requirements are met. With full ownership of the solar project companies, Ecopetrol now adds more than 0.6 GW of solar capacity to its portfolio and will begin integrating these entities into the Group structure.

This acquisition advances Ecopetrol’s 2040 “Energy that Transforms” strategy, supporting its decarbonization goals and strengthening low-emission power generation for self-consumption while complementing its core oil and gas operations.
