Nel ASA (Nel) has signed an agreement with GreenH to serve as the technology provider for the Enova-supported hydrogen projects in Kristiansund and Slagentangen.

GreenH develops, builds, owns, and operates renewable hydrogen production facilities, with a mission to establish a network of distributed production hubs that help decarbonize maritime, transport, and industrial users. By locating production close to end customers, GreenH aims to reduce logistics costs and strengthen regional hydrogen value chains.

The Kristiansund and Slagentangen plants will supply green hydrogen to industrial and maritime sectors and form part of GreenH’s nationwide build-out strategy. Under the agreement, Nel will provide electrolyser equipment along with engineering and technical support. While the final scope and timeline will be confirmed later, each site is planned for a minimum of 10 MW of capacity, totaling more than 20 MW.

“We have worked together with Nel on finding the right electrolyser concept for Kristiansund and Slagentangen over a longer period. We are very pleased with the signing of this agreement and thereby bringing in Nel as a partner on these two projects that are very important for GreenH,” noted Morten Solberg Watle, CEO of Green H AS.

“We are pleased to support GreenH in developing regional hydrogen infrastructure in Norway, and we look forward to working together as they move forward,” said Håkon Volldal, CEO and President of Nel ASA.
