Inpex opens blue hydrogen and ammonia plant in Japan

Energy company Inpex Corporation has opened a blue hydrogen and ammonia plant in Japan, with annual ammonia production expected to reach around 700 tonnes.

Located in the Niigata Prefecture at Kashiwazaki City, the facility features a blue hydrogen production plant coupled with a carbon capture system, an ammonia conversion plant, and carbon storage at the depleted Hirai gasfield.
