Developers are increasingly selecting electrolyser technologies based on project-specific requirements rather than backing a single dominant solution, speakers said during a recent H2 View webinar.
from Norwegian pressurised alkaline firm HydrogenPro, Danish solid oxide start-up Dynelectro, and Singapore-based PEM and AEM developer Hydgen, said no single technology can currently meet the full range of operational and commercial demands facing hydrogen projects.
The shift comes as many hydrogen projects remain stalled before FID, with developers under pressure to balance cost, risk, and performance.
“It’s about bankability… that determines if a project will happen or not,” said HydrogenPro’s Chief Commercial Officer Michael Caspersen.
