Industrial gases multinational SOL Group has finalised two new acquisitions in the UK and Brazil in the specialist respiratory care market through its Vivisol branded companies.
Its wholly-owned subsidiary Dolby Healthcare fully purchased Remeo Healthcare and Remeo Property from Active Care Group in the UK.
This includes the Lane Fox Remeo Respiratory Centre, a 20-bed facility in Surrey which operates in partnership with the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
The Lane Fox Service supports patients with complex respiratory needs as they move from intensive care into a specialist environment focused on recovery and rehabilitation.
“This operation allows us to integrate our existing home care activities with a world-class facility for complex respiratory weaning and to further develop our partnership with the NHS,” said Aldo Fumagalli Romario, President and CEO of SOL Group.
In Brazil, the SOL S.p.A-controlled Vivisol Brasil has acquired 70% of Oxigenar and Pulmonair, a group headquartered in Rio de Janeiro that offers business to consumer home respiratory care.
The Oxigenar Group covers a network of 24 sleeping centers and infrastructure dedicated to the ‘humanised’ adaptation of devices for sleep apnea, oxygen therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
The purchases are the latest in a series for SOL Group. In January, the Group signed a to acquire Haemopharm Biofluids, a manufacturer of infusible pharmaceutical and dialysis solutions.
“[This will enable us] to develop innovative therapeutic proposals in the field of renal insufficiency,” said Romario at the time.
In the same month, SOL Group Swiss firm VitalAire Schweiz from industrial gas major Air Liquide.
Romario said the purchase by Airsol reflects a groupwide commitment to pursuing a “strategic expansion path” in Switzerland.
“This operation will allow us to complement our existing high-intensity home care activities with home respiratory care, [which is] Vivisol’s traditional field of specialisation,” he said.
