French industrial gas major Air Liquide, through its Russia-based operations, has launched Air Liquide Kazakhstan to expand its presence across industrial gas, engineering, and infrastructure markets across Central Asia.
The launch expands Air Liquide’s presence in Kazakhstan beyond its existing joint venture activities and indicates plans to develop broader industrial gas and engineering services in the country.
Air Liquide Kazakhstan plans to provide technological solutions across the manufacturing, metallurgy, healthcare, energy, and heavy industry sectors.
The company also aims to develop industrial gas infrastructure projects, such as air separation units (ASUs) to produce oxygen, nitrogen, and argon for industrial applications.
Air Liquide Kazakhstan was first registered as a business entity in Q1 2026.
Artem Serebrennikov, General Director and Manager of Air Liquide assets in Russia, said, “Our presence in Kazakhstan is a direct guarantee that partners will receive not just gas, but a comprehensive technological service.”
Air Liquide has an existing presence in Kazakhstan through Air Liquide Munay Tech Gases (ALMTG), a joint venture with state-owned oil and gas company NC KazMunayGas (KMG).
Since 2018, ALMTG has supplied hydrogen and nitrogen to Kazakhstan-based projects.
Air Liquide and Russia
In August 2025, Russian authorities placed the Russia-based assets of Air Liquide under before assigning them to Russian logistics firm M-Logistics.
The Kazakhstan launch marks one of the most notable expansion moves by the business since the transfer of Air Liquide’s former Russian operations to M-Logistics.
Operations managed by M-Logistics continue to serve industrial and healthcare sectors.
Since 2022, Air Liquide has taken steps to prepare for the threat of Russian state intervention, separating the business and setting aside a provision of €586m.
Air Liquide’s decision to was a result of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
