Green Energy Stocks Deliver Mixed Performance As Indian Markets End Higher On July 9, 2026

Indian equity markets ended on a positive note on July 9, 2026, with both benchmark indices closing higher despite mixed performance across sectors. Investor sentiment remained upbeat throughout the session, helping the broader market maintain gains. The S&P BSE Sensex closed at 76,741.82, rising 0.31 percent, while the Nifty 50 advanced 0.32 percent to settle at 23,958.05. The positive market trend also supported several renewable energy and mobility stocks, although the sector witnessed sharp differences in individual stock performances.

Among the top performers, Insolation Energy emerged as the biggest gainer of the day. The company’s shares surged 11.62 percent on the BSE to close at Rs 121.00, while on the NSE the stock gained 9.52 percent to end at Rs 118.83. Borosil Renewables also recorded strong buying interest, with its shares climbing 9.80 percent on the BSE to Rs 651.70 and 9.17 percent on the NSE to Rs 649.15. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility continued the positive momentum by gaining 4.21 percent to close at Rs 870.00. Websol Energy also performed well, rising 3.86 percent to finish at Rs 101.00.

Several established energy companies registered moderate gains during the trading session. GAIL rose 1.54 percent to close at Rs 171.60, while Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) gained 1.06 percent to end at Rs 138.70. Tata Power advanced 0.99 percent to Rs 375.60, reflecting steady investor confidence. The Indian Energy Exchange added 0.90 percent to close at Rs 118.00, and Exide Industries moved up 0.87 percent to Rs 425.00. Reliance Industries also ended slightly higher with a gain of 0.39 percent, while NTPC Green Energy Limited rose 0.54 percent.

However, not all renewable energy companies participated in the rally. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited declined 0.92 percent on the BSE to close at Rs 230.40. Adani Green Energy also witnessed selling pressure, falling 0.91 percent on the BSE to Rs 1,491.00 and declining 1.24 percent on the NSE. JSW Energy and Inox Wind both slipped 0.46 percent on the BSE. Praj Industries fell 0.44 percent to Rs 353.75, while Larsen & Toubro eased 0.24 percent to close at Rs 3,886.10. Olectra Greentech showed mixed performance, gaining 0.23 percent on the BSE but ending marginally lower by 0.07 percent on the NSE. Overall, the session reflected a positive market mood, with selective buying driving gains in several renewable energy and mobility stocks despite profit booking in a few major counters.
