REC Incorporates SPV for Nawada-Durgapur-Jeerat 765 kV Interstate Transmission Project

REC Limited has announced the incorporation of Nawada Durgapur Power Transmission Limited as a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) to facilitate the development of the ERES-47: Nawada-Durgapur-Jeerat (New) 765 kV transmission corridor.

The special purpose vehicle (SPV) was incorporated on July 10, 2026, with an authorised and paid-up capital of ₹5 lakh. As a newly incorporated entity, it has not yet commenced business operations or generated any revenue.

According to REC, the Ministry of Power had, through a Gazette notification dated March 24, 2026, appointed RECPDCL as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) for the interstate transmission project under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework. The SPV has been established to undertake activities related to the transmission corridor before being transferred to the successful bidder selected through the competitive bidding process, along with its assets and liabilities.

REC said Nawada Durgapur Power Transmission Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of RECPDCL and, consequently, an indirect subsidiary of REC Limited. The company has subscribed to 100% of the equity share capital of the SPV in cash at face value.

RECPDCL acts as the Bid Process Coordinator for the selection of transmission service providers for interstate and intrastate transmission projects assigned by the Ministry of Power and state governments under the TBCB mechanism.
