ARRAY Technologies Inaugurates $50 Million Albuquerque Facility to Expand Domestic Solar Manufacturing

ARRAY Technologies has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico, representing an investment of more than $50 million to expand its domestic manufacturing capabilities for solar tracking and fixed-tilt products.

The 216,000-square-foot facility, which is approximately three times the size of ARRAY’s previous Albuquerque site, is expected to support around 300 jobs across production, assembly, design, engineering, customer service and other functions. The company said the expansion will increase its supply-chain control, shorten delivery timelines, reduce costs and provide greater manufacturing flexibility.

ARRAY, which has been headquartered in Albuquerque for more than 35 years, has deployed more than 100 GW of solar tracking systems globally. The new facility will allow the company to bring production of several components in-house that were previously sourced from external suppliers. Some of the components manufactured at the site are eligible for the Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Tax Credit.

The facility was developed through a public-private partnership involving $2.5 million from New Mexico’s Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) job-creation fund, along with $250,000 each from the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. The project also received partial property-tax abatement through an Industrial Revenue Bond.

The LEED-certified facility is designed to accommodate ARRAY’s current manufacturing requirements while providing capacity for future expansion. The company said the facility will create additional skilled manufacturing opportunities, including positions for stamping press operators, tooling and die technicians and process engineers.

The facility’s inauguration was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich, Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, Bernalillo County Commissioner Barbara Baca and representatives from the Solar Energy Industries Association, American Clean Power Association, customers, suppliers and community partners.
