Roughly a third of data centre projects coming online by the end of this decade will have some form of carbon capture technology, with that number growing up to 40% by 2035.
That was the projected outlook shared by Ivor Castelino, Senior Director of Energy Transition Solutions at Bloom Energy, during the opening keynote at day two of gasworld’s North American CO2 Summit in New Orleans, who said this could create around 100 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) supply annually.
