National trade body the British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) has appointed Graeme Craig as CEO to guide the organisation in its next phase of growth.
He moves from trade group British Plastics Federation, where he served as Senior Industrial Issues Executive for more than six years. He has worked in trade associations and industry representation for almost 25 years.
It comes after the BCGA launched a search for the executive position in May 2026.
Matthias Kuhn, President of the BCGA, said, “[Craig’s] technical approach, coupled with broad-ranging experience in trade associations, makes him the ideal candidate to lead the BCGA.”
Craig said that the standards maintained by the BCGA and the industrial and medical gases sector deserve greater recognition more widely, and he aims to raise awareness of the industry’s contribution among policymakers, regulators, and the wider public.
“My focus will be on strengthening the BCGA’s role as the voice of the industry, supporting existing members, attracting new ones and building relationships with other associations and organisations,” he added.
In May, the BCGA hydrogen expert Kuhn as President to ‘re-energise’ the trade body.
According to the national trade body, its members account for an annual turnover of £2.7bn ($3.57bn).
