Italy-headquartered industrial gases company SOL Group has fully acquired Poland-based healthcare company Wentimed, adding to a series of targeted purchases made this year.
The latest buyout will bring several new home-based business lines to Polish patients, including rehabilitation, nursing care and oxygen therapy.
SOL operates its home care businesses under the Vivisol brand, with the acquisition strengthening its existing operations in Poland and expanding its offering in respiratory and palliative care.
Founded in 2014 by Dr Piotr Compała, Wentimed specialises in home mechanical ventilation and palliative care. The company generated more than PLN 40m (€9m) in revenue in 2025.
Compała will continue working with Wentimed during a transition period following the acquisition.
The deal builds on SOL’s existing Polish home care operations, including Pallmed, Medseven and Medseven Care, which it acquired in 2018.
Wentimed’s integration is expected to strengthen services in both home-based and stationary mechanical ventilation, alongside palliative care.
“The combination of Wentimed’s expertise with that of our existing local operations – starting with Pallmed – enables us to offer patients an increasingly integrated, continuous and highly excellent home care pathway,” said Alessandro Sala, Area Director for Poland, Romania and Germany Homecare & Pharma division.
The acquisition is intended to create a more integrated network of healthcare services in Poland, combining specialist respiratory care with a broader range of support for patients at home.
The deal forms part of SOL’s wider expansion in home care, following its entry into the in July through the acquisition of Danish respiratory care specialist Nowus Healthcare.
Other recent transactions have included Swiss firm VitalAire Schweiz, , and acquisitions in the UK and Brazil.
The expansion comes as SOL’s Home Care division continues to its Technical Gases business by revenue. Operated under the Vivisol brand, the Home Care segment generated €499.8m ($557m) in sales in the six months to 30 June, up 11.3% year-on-year. This compared with €469.5m ($523m) in revenue for the Technical Gases division, which grew 5.5% over the same period.
