Industrial gases major Linde sees no near-term recovery in European industrial demand, with underlying volumes flat in the third quarter as high energy costs and a lack of supportive industrial policy continue to weigh on the region.

The group reported European volume growth of around 1% in the quarter, but CEO Sanjiv Lamba said this was largely driven by equipment sales, with underlying volumes flat.
