Industrial gas major Air Liquide delivered 12% comparable sales growth across electronics in Q3 2026, driven by 27% growth in advanced materials and 12% growth in carrier gases.
Chief Financial Officer Jérôme Pelletan said the double-digit growth in carrier gases and advanced materials sales, which account for approximately 70% of electronics revenue, was driven by the global AI buildout.
During its Capital Markets Day call, the company its electronics business to grow from €2.5bn ($2.8bn) in revenue in 2025 to over €4bn ($4.5bn) by 2030, as demand for semiconductors used in AI and cloud computing drives investment in chipmaking capacity.
CEO François Jackow attributes the 27% advanced materials growth to long-term research and development (R&D), patented molecules, and manufacturing capabilities.
“We have a unique set of molecules…and those are exactly the products which are today enjoying very significant growth because of the more sophisticated needs in AI application,” he noted.
In September, Air Liquide shared it will invest more than €170m ($192.8m) in to supply ultra-high-purity gases to an undisclosed semiconductor manufacturer in Japan.
