NTPC Group has reached a significant milestone by generating 400 billion units (BU) of power in the financial year 2024-25. The company achieved this record on March 1, 2025, making it the fastest-ever 400 BU generation in just 335 days. This achievement comes 12 days earlier than in the previous financial year when NTPC crossed the same mark on March 13, 2024.

As India’s largest integrated power utility, NTPC contributes nearly one-fourth of the country’s total power supply. It has an installed capacity of over 77 GW, with an additional 29.5 GW under construction, including 9.6 GW of renewable energy. The company aims to reach 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032, reinforcing its commitment to clean energy.

NTPC operates a diverse mix of thermal, hydro, solar, and wind power plants to ensure reliable and affordable electricity for the nation. It is also focusing on adopting best practices and clean energy technologies to support a greener future. Beyond power generation, NTPC has expanded into new sectors such as e-mobility, battery storage, pumped hydro storage, waste-to-energy, nuclear power, and green hydrogen solutions, further strengthening its role in India’s energy transition.
