Tata Power has crossed a significant milestone with over 150,000 rooftop solar installations across India, reinforcing its position as the nation’s top rooftop solar provider. The company’s total rooftop solar capacity now exceeds 3 GW, highlighting its central role in India’s renewable energy transition.

With a strong presence in more than 700 cities, Tata Power Solar Rooftop, a division of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), continues to lead the way in India’s shift towards a sustainable and energy-efficient future. Tata Power’s rooftop solar solutions, marketed as Tata Power Solaroof, offer several advantages, including up to 80% savings on electricity bills, a 25-year warranty on solar modules, and a payback period of just 4-7 years. These systems protect users from annual electricity tariff hikes, typically ranging from 3-5%. Additionally, Tata Power manufactures ALMM-Approved Solar Panels at its state-of-the-art factory in Tamil Nadu.

Tata Power also provides flexible financing options through more than 20 financial partners, including both PSU and private banks, ensuring solar energy adoption is accessible and affordable for all. The company is a key player in supporting government initiatives, such as the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and its flagship ‘GharGhar Solar’ campaign, aimed at driving solar adoption across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. These efforts contribute significantly to India’s energy security and sustainability goals.

The company’s nationwide footprint is supported by a vast network of 575+ channel partners in over 300 cities and 225+ authorized service partners across 400+ cities, ensuring seamless service and support. With over 150,000 satisfied customers, including more than 122,000 in the residential sector, Tata Power has become the preferred solar partner for homeowners, businesses, and industries.

Through various campaigns, Tata Power SolarRoof has raised awareness about rooftop solar across India. The company has embraced cultural moments like the Kumbh and Chhath Puja to encourage citizens to adopt solar energy. In January 2025, Tata Power launched its new campaign, “Aapki Roof, Aapki Takat,” during Makar Sankranti, urging homeowners to unlock the potential of their rooftops, transforming them into sources of solar energy and personal growth.

As Tata Power Solar Rooftop celebrates this achievement, the company remains committed to providing high-quality, reliable, and affordable solar solutions that offer energy independence, financial savings, and a sustainable future.

Beyond rooftop solar, Tata Power’s expanding investments in solar manufacturing are strengthening the solar value chain. With a robust manufacturing base in India, Tata Power boasts a 4.3 GW cell and module manufacturing capacity and over 3 GW of rooftop solar installations, further accelerating India’s transition to clean energy.
