Multinational specialty materials company Arkema has signed an eight-year biomethane supply deal with international electric utility supplier Engie.
The 25 GWh/year contract will cover 85% of the annual gas consumption of four Bostik adhesive production sites in France (Coubert, Privas, Ribécourt and Venette). Bostik is wholly owned by Arkema.
The agreement is in line with a long-term contract signed by Arkema with Engie in early 2023 for the supply of 300 GWh/year of biomethane in France.
By the end of 2023, Engie operated 35 biomethane production sites in France and the UK, generating 0.8 TWh annually.
