ACWA Power Reports Strong H1 2025 Results with 62% Growth in Adjusted Net Profit

Saudi-listed ACWA Power, the world’s largest private water desalination company and a leader in energy transition and green hydrogen, has announced its consolidated financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2025.

Adjusted net profit attributable to equity holders rose 62% year-on-year (SAR 449 million) to SAR 1,172 million, driven by stronger operational and development contributions. Reported net profit declined slightly by 1.9%, mainly due to an impairment charge in one of its affiliates.

Operating income before impairment losses and other expenses increased by SAR 818 million to SAR 2,207 million, supported by higher development business, construction management services, and operational performance.

In the first half of 2025, ACWA Power signed nine Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) totaling 20 GW of new capacity, including 15 GW in Saudi Arabia under the Vision 2030 renewable energy program. In water, it signed two Water Purchase Agreements (WPAs), set to add 700,000 m³/day of desalination capacity upon commissioning.

The company also announced a Share Purchase Agreement to acquire power and water assets in Bahrain and Kuwait, adding 4.6 GW of power and 1.1 million m³/day of water capacity to its advanced development portfolio. Upon completion, these fully operational assets will immediately contribute to ACWA Power’s operational capacity.

“What we’ve achieved so far in 2025 is a testament to our scale, agility, and long-term partnerships. Our growing portfolio, backed by frameworks like our strategic partnership with PIF, our bold entry into new markets, and other long-term strategic agreements for future energy corridors, are all pillars of our commitment to building a cleaner, more sustainable future. We have doubled in size over the past three years, and we expect to double again over the next five, as we continue delivering on our mission at greater scale and impact.” said Marco Arcelli, Chief Executive Officer of ACWA Power.
