The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati, has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) for a 2 MW solar power project to be executed under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model. Published on January 3, 2025, this initiative aims to enhance AIIMS Guwahati’s commitment to sustainable energy, reduce electricity costs, and promote environmental responsibility. The project includes design, supply, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance over 25 years, with the contractor bearing the total investment cost.

The RESCO model ensures no upfront cost to AIIMS Guwahati. The electricity generated will be sold at a pre-agreed tariff through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) lasting 25 years. The contractor is responsible for efficient operations throughout this period. The EOI submission deadline is January 28, 2025, with a pre-bid meeting scheduled for January 10, 2025.

Qualified bidders must be recognized or empaneled by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and demonstrate experience in executing at least two similar solar power projects (minimum 1 MW) in the past seven years. Financial stability is also required, with a minimum turnover of ₹100 crores over the last three financial years. Interested participants must submit technical and financial proposals and attend a pre-bid meeting for clarification.

The project scope includes feasibility studies, equipment procurement, construction, grid synchronization, and ongoing maintenance. It also mandates integrating advanced monitoring technologies such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and establishing robust maintenance and reporting frameworks.

AIIMS Guwahati will provide land, facilitate site access, and secure necessary clearances, while the contractor will ensure compliance with all regulations and deliver the project efficiently. No Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) is required, and interested parties can download the EOI document from AIIMS Guwahati’s e-tendering portal.

This initiative aligns with the institution’s goal of integrating renewable energy solutions into its operations, supporting India’s broader transition to clean energy. By engaging experienced agencies under the RESCO model, AIIMS Guwahati aims to establish a sustainable, cost-effective energy system, demonstrating its commitment to environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
