In the past year, many ASUs projects have been confirmed or come onstream, with different market drivers. Christian Annesley looks at what has been happening

Air separation units (ASUs) lie at the heart of air gases production. There are other ways to make some air gases, but the big production volumes of oxygen, nitrogen and argon (sometimes neon, too) are down to the soaring ASU towers that dot the globe.

There are always new ASUs being announced or coming online, plus other related developments, but what kind of projects have been agreed in the past 12 months, and what’s behind those deals? Let’s look at the evolving picture.
