Air Products South Africa has been approved by the South African National Accreditation System as a verification and repair body for cryogenic and liquid carbon dioxide flowmeters – devices that measure the flow of ultra-cold liquefied gases.
The accreditation follows a multi-stage process involving approval by national regulatory, certification by a verification officer, and SANAS’ final sign-off. Air Products said the work establishes legal traceability, reduces fragmentation in the market, and strengthens local technical capacity.
Gift Nyambe, General Manager for Technical, said the accreditation rests on the three pillars of technical astuteness, legal compliance, and system efficiency.
“The accreditation is not only an indication of compliance to regulation, but it also holds a commercial advantage to customers. This is largely due to the metering accuracy and traceability, a reduced risk of not conforming to regulation and a vast improvement in the service turnaround times and cost efficiencies as a result of our in-house capability and resources,” he said.
