©Holcim / Tilbury Cement Works started operations this month
It’s taken a while to build up momentum but major cross-border moves are now being made with low-carbon cement.
Today’s news that has partnered with UK-based clean tech firm Leilac, in a demonstration which could be scaled up to eight times to capture more than 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide, is illustrative of the collaborations now firming up.
The Indian company’s 6.6 million tonnes per annum Sanghi plant will evaluate the integration of Leilac’s carbon capture and hybrid heating technology to support lower-emission cement production.
