Astronergy Secures EcoVadis Platinum Rating, Ranks Among Global Top 1% for Sustainability

Astronergy has achieved a major milestone in sustainability performance, earning the prestigious EcoVadis Platinum rating at the Group level with an outstanding overall score of 86. This recognition places the company among the top 1% of all companies assessed globally by EcoVadis and makes Astronergy the first photovoltaic (PV) company in China to receive this highest-level certification.

EcoVadis, one of the world’s most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings, evaluates companies across four key areas. Astronergy delivered exceptional results in each category, scoring 90 in Environment, 85 in Labor & Human Rights, 87 in Ethics, and 83 in Sustainable Procurement. These scores underscore the company’s leadership in responsible manufacturing, ethical governance, and supply chain sustainability within the global PV industry.

Commenting on the achievement, Haiyang Huang, Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) at Astronergy, said the recognition reflects the company’s long-term commitment to embedding sustainability into every aspect of its operations. She emphasized that Astronergy will continue strengthening full lifecycle product management while building a more transparent and traceable supply chain, with the aim of supporting the global energy transition and the sustainable development of the solar industry.

Sustainability is deeply integrated into Astronergy’s corporate strategy and daily operations. In 2023, the company formally released its Sustainability Strategy, setting out a clear roadmap and committing to achieving carbon neutrality across its entire value chain by 2050. This strategic framework guides decision-making across governance, manufacturing, and supply chain management.

The company has already taken tangible steps toward these goals. Astronergy’s Yancheng and Jiuquan manufacturing sites have both achieved Zero-Carbon Factory certification, highlighting its progress in reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency at the operational level.

To further accelerate its sustainability journey, Astronergy is actively engaging with leading global initiatives and organizations. These include the UN Global Compact’s Forward Faster initiative, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and the Sustainable Fuel Alliance Initiative, reinforcing its alignment with internationally recognized climate and sustainability standards.

Looking ahead, Astronergy stated it will continue to enhance its sustainability management systems and practices. By delivering greener, more reliable solar solutions, the company aims to play a pivotal role in advancing the global energy transition while setting new benchmarks for responsible growth in the photovoltaic industry.
