Avangrid, the U.S. subsidiary of the Iberdrola Group, has completed the assembly of more than 200,000 solar modules produced by SEG Solar at its new manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. These modules will be deployed at Avangrid’s Tower Solar project in Morrow County, Oregon, which has a planned capacity of 166 MWdc (120 MWac). Once operational, the project will deliver renewable power to Portland General Electric’s (PGE) grid and help supply energy for Meta’s regional data center operations.
Currently under construction, the Tower Solar project is scheduled for completion in 2026. The facility will provide clean energy to PGE’s grid through the Green Future Impact (GFI) program, a voluntary initiative that enables commercial, industrial, and institutional customers to meet sustainability and carbon reduction targets by supporting the development of new renewable energy resources in the region.
