Avangrid Generates 13,891 GWh in H1 2026, Boosted by Solar Projects as U.S. Installed Capacity Surpasses 11 GW

Avangrid, Inc., a leading U.S. energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, generated 13,891 GWh of electricity during the first half of 2026, enough to power more than 2.6 million U.S. homes. The company’s generation increased 8% compared with the same period in 2025, supported by strong performance from its existing fleet and additional generation capacity brought online over the past year.

Avangrid operates nearly 100 generation facilities across the United States and surpassed 11 GW of installed capacity earlier this year. Recent additions to its portfolio include Bakeoven Solar, Daybreak Solar, and Tower Solar in Oregon, along with projects completed in California, Ohio, and Texas. The company continues to develop new generation projects to expand its capacity and support rising electricity demand across the country.

Beyond electricity generation, Avangrid’s renewable energy projects are contributing to local economies. In 2025, the company’s onshore projects collectively generated $61 million in local tax revenue, supporting public services such as education and public safety. Avangrid said its growing generation portfolio will continue to support households, businesses, industry, and grid reliability amid rising energy demand and seasonal weather conditions.
