AWG enters Utah with First Call Propane acquisition

Independent gas and welding distributor American Welding & Gas (AWG) has acquired First Call Propane, a Utah-based propane provider.

The purchase marks AWG’s first acquisition in Utah, expanding its footprint further west and strengthening its presence in the propane market.

Propane (R-290) is used as a refrigerant, particularly in domestic refrigerators, commercial refrigeration systems, and air conditioning units. It’s noted for its low environmental impact, having zero ozone depletion potential and a very low global warming potential.

First Call Propane was founded by Dale and Kelari Winterton, who decided to sell the business in line with their retirement.
