Energy technology company Baker Hughes has secured a contract to supply the liquefaction equipment for Commonwealth LNG, a 9.5 million tonnes-per-year liquefied natural gas export project on the Calcasieu Ship Channel near Cameron, Louisiana.
The contract was awarded by French energy engineering and technology firm Technip Energies, which is leading the project.
Under the terms of the contract, Baker Hughes will supply six refrigerant turbo compressors, consisting of LM9000 aeroderivative gas turbines – 70+ MW gas turbines with efficiency above 44% under ISO conditions – paired with centrifugal compressors.
The contract also covers commissioning services, capital spares, an extended warranty, and a full string test.
