Canadian independent industrial gas distributor Core Gases has acquired Cobourg Welding Supply, a welding equipment and industrial gas business.

The purchase will strengthen Core Gases’ presence in Eastern Ontario. The company currently has four facilities in the Canadian province, with its headquarters being in Ajax.

In Canada, independent industrial gas distributors only represent around 3% of the country’s industrial gas market, according to gasworld Intelligence.

Ben Ciceri, CEO of Core Industrial Gases, said that Cobourg Welding Supply’s values aligned with those at Core Gases and he welcomed its team into the organisation.
