Canadian gas producer and distributor Charbone Corporation has opened its first hub in the US at Albany in New York State.
Strategically located in the northeast tech region, the Albany site – the third in its network – will provide ultra high purity (UHP) hydrogen, oxygen and helium across the region, serving a diverse industrial clientele covering semiconductors, AI, healthcare, aerospace and advanced industrial process sectors.
Dave Gagnon, President and CEO of Charbone, said, “We’re building a local infrastructure to supply essential molecules to the industries of tomorrow, with UHP quality standards, reliable execution, and a long-term vision. This hub positions Charbone at the heart of a key technology ecosystem and strengthens our ability to become a leading industrial gas player in North America.”
The hub uses a modular and decentralised approach, allowing it to scale production based on regional demand from mid-tier industrial customers.
Charbone announced last month that it is expanding into .
The new focus will see it expand into producing speciality gases like helium, as well as atmospheric gases like oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and carbon dioxide, to grow and diversify revenues.
The 2026–2030 strategic plan lines the company up to supply sectors like semiconductors, data centres, advanced pharmaceuticals, aerospace, and defence technologies.
Last month it also signed a three-year as part of its expansion into industrial gas production and distribution.
The agreement, with an unnamed US industrial client, follows an initial delivery of UHP oxygen and will support the customer’s operations in the US industrial sector.
