CleanMax & Toyota Tsusho India Team Up To Provide Clean Energy For Japanese Companies Operating In India

CleanMax, one of India’s leading renewable energy and net-zero solutions providers backed by Brookfield, has entered into a long-term partnership with Toyota Tsusho India Private Limited (TTIPL). TTIPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho Corporation Japan, a member of the Toyota Group, known for its innovative approach to addressing business and societal challenges across various sectors in India.

The newly formed partnership aims to develop and operate 300 MW of renewable energy projects by March 2028. These projects will be designed specifically for corporate clients in India, with a strong focus on Japanese companies operating in the country. The platform will facilitate the adoption of clean energy through long-term Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs), helping businesses transition towards more sustainable operations.

Kuldeep Jain, Founder & Managing Director, CleanMax, mentioned, “The partnership with Toyota Tsusho is a prestigious landmark for us. We’re delighted to support their journey in India, with an aim to enable Japanese corporates including Toyota Group reach their net-zero goals. This solidifies CleanMax’s strategy around global collaborations focused on helping corporations reduce their carbon footprint, while enabling the company to achieve its growth targets in a more capital-efficient manner.”

Nobuaki Yahiro, Managing Director, TTIPL, said in a statement, “This initiative is a strategic step to enable decarbonization for our group and partners in India towards a carbon-neutral future. The partnership with CleanMax aims to facilitate availability of reliable, long-term renewable power to customers and our shared vision for sustainability will help accelerate India’s shift to renewable energy.”

As part of the collaboration, a wide range of tailored green energy solutions will be offered, including rooftop solar installations, standalone ground-mounted solar or wind power projects, wind-solar hybrid systems, and carbon credit services. This partnership brings together CleanMax’s proven expertise in executing large-scale and long-duration renewable energy projects with Toyota Tsusho India’s extensive network and relationships among Japanese corporates across India’s industrial regions. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to accelerating clean energy adoption and supporting India’s broader sustainability goals.
