Danaos Corporation, one of the world’s largest independent container ship owners, has announced a $50m investment in the 20 million tonnes per annum Alaska LNG project.
The investment will be made through Glenfarne Alaska Partners, while the LNG carriers will be built and operated for Glenfarne Alaska LNG, the project’s majority owner and developer.
Greece-based Danaos will also serve as the preferred provider of at least six liquefied natural gas carriers for the project.
Alaska LNG is majority-owned by energy infrastructure specialist Glenfarne Alaska.
