EDF Renewables and Enbridge Inc., a leading North American energy infrastructure company, have announced the full commissioning of the Amazon Fox Squirrel Solar Farm. The project, now fully operational, comprises three phases:

Fox Squirrel 1: 150 MWca/194 MWp
Fox Squirrel 2: 250 MWca/325 MWp
Fox Squirrel 3: 177 MWca/230 MWp
With a total capacity of 577 MWp, 1.4 million solar panels, and 159 inverters, the solar farm is the largest onshore renewable energy project developed and built by EDF Renewables North America. The construction process employed up to 650 workers, installing approximately 10,000 panels daily, totaling nearly 1.5 million work hours.

The electricity generated will be supplied exclusively to Amazon through power purchase agreements, supporting its commitment to “The Climate Pledge.” Projects like Fox Squirrel not only help fulfill corporate renewable energy goals but also bolster Ohio’s appeal as a hub for clean energy investment and economic growth.

“We are proud to announce the completion of EDF Renewables’ largest energy investment in North America – Fox Squirrel Solar,” commented Kate O’Hair, Vice President of Onshore Development at EDF Renewables North America. “This project is an example of effective partnership between landowners, local communities and our partners, working together for a sustainable future. Our development partner, Geenex Solar, was instrumental in bringing this project to fruition. Fox Squirrel brought hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars to Madison County throughout the development and construction phase. As we enter the operational phase, we are committed to continuing to be a responsible and reliable neighbour as well as strengthening our environmental stewardship and community relations.””We are proud to celebrate the completion of the final phase of Fox Squirrel Solar, a key milestone in our strategic partnership with EDF Renewables,” said Matthew Akman, Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and President of Energy at Enbridge. “This project represents an important milestone for Enbridge’s renewable energy strategy, reinforcing our leadership in the energy transition. We are proud to provide all of the renewable electricity from this project to Amazon, for their operations and sustainability goals.”
