Elmya Energy and Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure Ltd have announced the creation of Elmantic, a new joint venture dedicated to developing 4 GW of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States. The Elmya Energy USA team and Atlantica’s North America team will lead all development activities for the partnership.

Elmantic combines Elmya’s extensive global project development expertise with Atlantica’s proven strengths in operations and infrastructure investment. Founded in 1966 as an electrical contractor in Seville, Spain, Elmya has evolved into a global renewable energy company with more than 3 GW of projects successfully connected worldwide. Carlos Piñar, Managing Director of Elmya, said, “The U.S. stands as one of the largest and most dynamic markets for energy in the world. Our formation of Elmantic during this time of resetting and growth for the U.S. power industry underscores our conviction that renewable energy will continue to play a major role in America’s expanding economy. Colin Mott, Manuel Rodríguez Díaz, and MakNagle, with their wealth of renewable development experience and technical expertise, are uniquely positioned to navigate the complexities of project development and ensure that the best projects succeed.”

Colin Mott, Head of North America for Elmya Energy USA, said, “We are committed to upholding Elmya’s hard-earned, 60-year reputation for reliability, transparency, and long-term commitment to the communities they work in. As we advance new greenfield energy infrastructure, our priority is working with landowners and communities to build mutually beneficial energy projects.”
