Greenzo Energy Limited, recognized as India’s first integrated green hydrogen company, has reached a new milestone by securing a significant Research and Development (R&D) order from Engineers India Limited (EIL). EIL, a Navratna public-sector enterprise under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, awarded the project to Greenzo Energy following a rigorous technical evaluation.

The order was formalized through a Letter of Intent and purchase order issued via the Government e-Marketplace platform. It covers the supply, sitework, and mandatory spares for a hydrogen electrolyser modular unit, which will be installed at EIL’s R&D complex in Sector 16, Gurgaon, Haryana. This project highlights Greenzo Energy’s technological expertise while also reflecting the government’s growing confidence in Indian companies to play a central role in advancing the green energy transition.

The development comes at a time when India is accelerating the implementation of its National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to position the country as a leading hub for green hydrogen production and export. By selecting Greenzo Energy for this R&D initiative, EIL has reinforced the importance of indigenous innovation in building scalable hydrogen solutions. The project is expected to serve as a testing ground for technologies that can later be applied across hard-to-abate industries such as refining, fertilizers, steel, and cement, contributing to India’s long-term decarbonization goals.

Mr. Sandeep Agarwal, Managing Director of Greenzo Energy Limited, said: “We are deeply honored to receive this R&D order from Engineers India Limited, a premier PSU that has been instrumental in shaping India’s energy infrastructure for decades. This recognition reaffirms Greenzo Energy’s role as India’s first dedicated Green Hydrogen company and validates the trust placed in us by the Government of India.”

He also added, “Our focus will be on delivering cutting-edge indigenous solutions in hydrogen electrolysers that are both scalable and globally competitive. This collaboration is not just about technology deployment; it is about building a sustainable future for India, reducing reliance on imports, and establishing our country as a leader in the global hydrogen economy.”

For Greenzo Energy, this order further validates its role as a pioneer in the hydrogen economy. The company has steadily expanded its focus over the past few years to cover the entire hydrogen value chain, including technology research, manufacturing, and project execution. With this collaboration, Greenzo strengthens its position as a trusted partner for government agencies, public sector undertakings, and private industry in shaping India’s clean energy future.
