Infinis, one of the UK’s leading low-carbon energy generators, has begun construction on two flagship renewable energy projects: Ford Oaks Solar Park in Devon and Oaklands Solar and BESS Energy Park in the Vale of Glamorgan. These projects represent significant milestones in Infinis’ expanding portfolio in solar and battery storage, combining nature-positive design with flexible grid support to deliver clean, reliable energy.

Both projects are being delivered in partnership with Ethical Power, acting as the principal EPC contractor under a Construction framework agreement that now covers five projects between the two organisations. Tom Kneen, CEO of Ethical Power, highlighted the strength of the partnership, noting that it spans multiple project types and technologies, including brownfield developments and co-located energy projects, and reinforces their shared vision for a low-carbon future.

Ford Oaks Solar Park, located near Exeter Airport, is set to generate 37 GWh of electricity annually, enough to power over 10,000 homes. The 45-hectare site is designed to be the first UK solar project to achieve the Building with Nature Award, reflecting its commitment to integrating high-quality green infrastructure. Andrew Leeding, Director of Development and Construction at Infinis, stated that Ford Oaks exemplifies a new generation of infrastructure where clean energy, nature restoration, and climate resilience are closely linked, setting a benchmark for long-term environmental benefits. Gemma Jerome, Head of Green Infrastructure at Sintali, added that the project demonstrates leadership in the renewable energy sector by proactively incorporating biodiversity benefits and nature recovery from the outset.

The Oaklands project in Wales marks Infinis’ first co-located solar and battery site. Upon completion, it is expected to generate 70 GWh of renewable electricity annually and feature 46 MW of battery storage. The site will supply power to over 20,000 homes while delivering a projected 172 percent net gain for biodiversity through landscape restoration and the creation of new wildlife corridors. The Oaklands project is scheduled for energisation by the end of 2026, further solidifying Infinis’ commitment to combining renewable energy generation with environmental stewardship.

Together, these two projects showcase Infinis’ strategy of integrating sustainable energy production with nature-positive design, setting new standards for renewable energy infrastructure in the UK while contributing to climate resilience and biodiversity restoration.
